The Comfort of Nature

Taking pictures with my sister-in-law, Catherine, is always fun. We both feel relaxed and comfortable around each other, and she’s an amazing photographer so the pictures always come out like a million bucks. If only she lived closer!
We had to take some head shots for my portfolio and all of a sudden, she puts my bun up in my hair and we start getting in trees and make it into a nature shoot, which, let’s be honest, is where I feel most comfortable. I never wear my hair up so it was a nice change.

Before

After

I’m learning to enjoy the beauty in imperfections. Like my imperfect eyebrows (I’m horrible at grooming them because my skin is so sensitive), my chapped lips and the purple on the lines of my eyes from too many nights of barely any sleep. Before, I would be so embarrassed but I think it adds character.
Perfection isn’t attainable, so embrace all of the imperfections you got.

  1. The last photo is my favorite! And can I just tell you I thought you had a tad of purple eyeliner smudged naturally under your eye? I would've never known it's from lack of sleep! If it bothers you maybe try adding a little more color there so it looks more like eyeliner to you? Just a thought. 🙂
