Why Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Should Be the Next Place You Travel
Imagine cobblestone streets, bright colored buildings, lush jungled mountains, and the excitement of adventure. It’s a breathtaking place on the Pacific coast called Puerto Vallarta. I want to share why you need to visit this slice of heaven. Here’s why Puerto Vallarta should be the next place you travel.
Why Puerto Vallarta Should Be the Next Place You Travel
It’s been said it’s the safest place in Mexico.
As someone who has been going since I was a baby, I’ve never seen a drug cartel, a crime, or have been scared for my wellbeing. Three ladies can roam the town after dark and still feel safe, grabbing street tacos, wandering aimlessly through the local vendors. It’s a healthy dose of culture without feeling too far from your comfort zone.
Not too touristy like Cancun, you can still feel the authentic and colorful flavor of Mexico in Puerto Vallarta.
It hasn’t been completely gentrified. There’s still a rustic feel in the part of town that is my favorite, Old Vallarta. You can feel the history as you walk the streets, understanding exactly why it doesn’t need to be updated.
There are so many charming sights to see and little hidden wonders, from the local vendors under the bridge, to the Malecon where you walk up and down the ocean, seeing restaurants, performers, and fellow travelers. There’s local shoemakers that make the best leather sandals I’ve ever seen and a local popsicle shop with coconut flavors that will make your heart sing.
Transportation is easy.
They have Uber, local buses for 10 cents, or regular taxis, so whatever your budget, you can get around and explore. You can also walk for miles and see the spectacular views yourself.
The locals are kind and lively.
I’ve made so many friends and memories with the locals. From the waiters at restaurants to the taxi drivers, to shop owners, they all are so kind and friendly.

The food is amazing and not quite like what the United States calls “Mexican”
It’s just better, and it makes sense why. Oh, and it’s very cheap? Yes please! You could get by without going to fancy restaurants and just hitting up the local bakeries and street taco stands everyday. It’s so good and makes you want to come back for more.
The adventures you can take are unforgettable.
From riding horseback up a waterfall, to snorkeling Los Arcos, to parasailing, zip-lining in the jungle canopies, to four-wheeling up the mountain, whale-watching, swimming with dolphins, you can do just about anything your heart desires!
After reading this, you should be convinced that adding Puerto Vallarta as your next trip is the best thing you’ll ever do!
